"Investing today in the heart of tomorrow"

HEART FOR THE WORLD

In addition to providing for the daily needs of their lives, Free Will Baptist Children’s Home desires to instill in our children a heart for the world.  Therefore, we emphasize the importance of missions as often as possible.  Dustin, a rising junior, returned the last of June from a three week missions ministry with E-Team St. Croix.  Earlier this summer, seven of our teens and four staff members participated in the Alabama sanctioned GO 10 Walk for the World sponsored by FWB International Missions.  FWBCH provided lunch for all the participants and hosted guest speaker and former missionary, Neil Gilliland.  Over the last few months, we have also had several missionaries stay with us on our campus.  Just recently, Nikolaj Sobolev, the Senior Presbyter of the Baptist Union for the Krasnodar Krai in Russia, was our guest for several days.  These times allow our young people to rub shoulders with men and women who are serious about reaching the world with the gospel.

It is 5000 miles from Eldridge, AL, to the Arctic Circle in Alaska and Don Norwood plans to ride his motorcycle all the way. Don, who is a member of the Eldridge Benefit Team, wanted to use this adventure as a way to help FWBCH. Therefore, he is presenting a challenge—‖A Penny a Mile!‖ If Don makes it to the Arctic Circle on his motorcycle, all those accepting the challenge will pay $50 to the Eldridge benefit effort.

The Eldridge Benefit Team sponsors an annual benefit to support FWBCH’s operation, a scholarship fund, and other day to day expenses for the children. Don is paying his own expense on the trip, so all proceeds benefit the Home. Your donation for the challenge can be paid using Paypal or by mailing your check directly to FWBCH.
